Amber Portwood and the Teen Mom: OGs will return in a few weeks. Ahead of the season premiere, Amber catches fans up on her personal life and her engagement.
“It’s been a while since [the Teen Mom girls have] done [filming],” Amber, 24, tells Us Weekly. “It’s kind of new because I’m sober.” She continues of what’s been going on with her, “Our lives have changed so much. It’s a drastic change from before. But that’s kind of exciting for the new season.”
“The big thing, I think, for me, is people are actually going to see me sober,” she continues of getting sober in prison and changing her life; including rebuilding her relationship with her young daughter, Leah.
Amber says of getting engaged in November, “I also have a fiancé now and he’s moving in.” Although.. some sources insist she only got engaged for attention and for screentime on Teen Mom’s new season.
“How we are together compared to the way me and Gary were — it’s just completely different,” Amber claims, adding that her fiance, Matthew Baier, 43, is “amazing.”
Amber continues of what attracted her to Matt… they met on Twitter, met in person weeks later and got engaged a few weeks after that… “I mean, he’s really funny. He’s really smart.”
She reveals, “He’s a lot older than me, but he’s mature and he can handle me. We have similar personalities. I think when you stop trying to look for somebody and you give up, [that’s] when I actually found him.”
Amber had almost given up on love, she says, “In my mind, I [thought to myself]: ‘I’m never going to find anybody I’m going to marry.” Although getting engaged again has been “crazy!”
