Benedict Cumberbatch and pregnant fiancee Sophie Hunter are getting married in the next few weeks.
A source told the Daily Mirror that “The invitations have gone out already which is very quick.” The couple announced their engagement in The Times newspaper in November. News leaked of the pregnancy soon after. However, “It’s shocked a few people but they want their special day to happen before they have the baby.”
Last week, the Daily Mail sources claimed Benedict and Sophie would get married in a few weeks. Probably shortly before the Oscars at the end of February.
“The details have been sent out in an email rather than a paper invitation as time is of the essence,” says a family insider. Noting that they cannot reveal the wedding location. “They’re planning the perfect day. Life couldn’t be much better for them at the moment.”
Benedict recently spoke about how acting in television and movies dictates other things in his life.
He admitted, ”[Acting is] a very odd, peripatetic, crazed, out of your control work and social schedule. It’s very hard to plan a family life, let alone know where the next pay cheque is coming from so they worked very very hard as my parents, and actors, to afford me an education whereby I had the opportunity and the privilege to try and channel myself towards other goals.”
And Benedict already knows what kind of father he wants to be.
He says owes “Much to [my] dad’s amazing selflessness as a man, and I hope to echo that when my time comes to be a dad, he said to me in a car park after a play I’d done at Manchester University, when I was a student there, he said, ‘You’re better now than I was or ever will be,’ which is a huge thing for a man to say to his son. He said, ‘I think you’re going to have a great career and I can’t wait to watch you and support you as you fly’. And I was like, ‘My God’. And so, the primary motivation for me in my life is to make them proud.”
