Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel reveals and defends her weight in a new interview with Savannah Guthrie.
Bethenny reveals, her weight is a topic of discussion on this season of the Real Housewives of New York, “People do comment a lot. Yeah, I am thin… I mean, I have a brand called Skinnygirl, so it’s not a big giant mystery.”
She insisted, “You can’t please everybody. You try to please everybody you end up pleasing nobody.” She admitted, “Sometimes I do agree that I look too thin, especially when I’m tired, especially when I’m haggard.”
However, she says, she is not ill. “I do eat. There are nutritionists that comment that I don’t even weigh 100 lbs. I weigh 115 lbs.” To prove her point, Bethenny exclaims, “I’ll be happy to get on the Today show scale! If you have one! Do you have a scale?”
“I’ve thought about making a bet that I would donate to Dress for Success a certain amount of money if I don’t weigh what I say I do. I’ve done it in the past,” she said.
Bethenny calls out the double standard about openly criticising thin people but not criticising overweight people in the same way. She explains, “People don’t talk about people who are overweight…Imagine being like, ‘Wow, that person looks really overweight,’ and keep talking about it. That wouldn’t be nice. But that’s not something I’m going to complain about.”
