The creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Vince Gilligan, recently did a podcast for the cult show’s spin-off.
Vince used the opportunity to vent about fans who travel to the Albuquerque, New Mexico home filmed for the exterior shots of anti-hero Walter White’s home. In particular, fans who recreate one notorious shot that happened by accident when actor Bryan Cranston threw a pizza and it accidentally – perfectly – landed on the roof.
Fans keep turning up at the house, owned by regular people, and trashing the roof by throwing pizza up there over and over. Vince would really, really rather people stopped doing that!
“Lately, we’re hearing from the owner that folks are wandering on to her property, and are being rude to her when she comes out and basically says ‘you’re on my property,’ ” said Vince. “They are throwing pizzas on roofs and stuff like that. Let me tell you, there is nothing original or funny or cool about throwing a pizza on this lady’s roof. It is just not funny. It’s been done before. You are not the first.”
“We love our fans,” he added. “I don’t love those fans. I don’t even consider them fans, I consider them jagoffs. If you…are doing that, straight your a** up man, because it’s not cool…you don’t treat people that way.
Jonathan Banks, who plays Mike Ehrmantraut, added, “If I catch you doing it, I will hunt you down.”
