The sports personality formerly known as “Bruce Jenner” is gone. Today, fans of Keeping up with the Kardashians meet Caitlyn Jenner on the cover of Vanity Fair.
Caitlyn is telling media outlets, there is a very good reason for the lack of a “K” name.
Despite the fact the name could very easily have been spelled “Kaitlyn” or another “C” variant such as “Catelynn”: The new and improved, “free”, to use her own words, Caitlyn is not a part of the Kardashian marketing machine.
Sources closely associated with Bruce tell us Caitlyn wants to make it clear to her family and the world … she is her own person.
That sounds obvious, but we’re told it was an extremely meaningful choice for her … she has never been her own person before, and becoming part of the Kardashian brood would undermine her goal.
It’s not that there’s bad blood between Caitlyn and the Kardashians … it’s all about self-identity. [via TMZ]
Another question fans may have about the cover, why show so much skin?
Caitlyn looks stunning (like a perfect mix of Janice Dickinson and Jessica Lange). Although, she’s literally in lingerie. From West Hollywood’s Trashy Lingerie to be specific.
For one specific reason: to shock people!
So fans and people who are curious can be satisfied there’s nothing to hide and everyday attire won’t be shocking by comparison.
In the behind-the-scenes video, Caitlyn talks about being free:
“I was probably at the [Olympic] games because I was running away from a lot of things,” the decathlon gold medalist says in the clip. “Very, very proud of those accomplishment, I don’t want to diminish that accomplishment.”
“It’s not about the fanfare… It’s not about people cheering in the stadium. t’s not about going down the street and everybody giving you a, ‘Thatta boy, Bruce!’ pat on the back.”
“Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie. Every day he always had a secret from morning ’til night… Caitlyn doesn’t have any secrets.
Soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I’m free.“
