Cam Gigandet is now known for his roles in films like Easy A, Twilight and Burlesque. But a decade ago, he had a role on The O.C., the big teen show at the time, co-starring with the likes of Mischa Barton and Southland actor Ben McKenzie.
However, Cam admits he no longer talks to his old crew and the cast of The O.C. were bored, petulant, and bullied him.
Asked by ELLE Magazine what it was like working on The O.C., Cam recalls, “Actually, Ben McKenzie was kind of mean to me. I hadn’t done anything at that point and he was a little bit of an ass. But I love him. I think he’s a great actor and I love Southland.”
The 31-year-old barely remembers working with Mischa, admitting, “Mischa? I didn’t really…Was she there? I don’t even have memories of her… I learned a lot. But the things that I remember now—none of them are good.”
The actor elaborates, “It was only the third or fourth season. Those kids were f**king miserable. They were just—they would not remember their lines on purpose. They were young. That said, I don’t talk to anyone I’ve ever worked with.”
Cam tells ELLE of whether he’s friends with former Burlesque co-star Christina Aguilera or anyone he’s worked with, “Yeah, no. I talk to Nick Thune from Bad Johnson. I’m not saying any of them are terrible, I’ve loved a lot of them, but I talk to one.”
