She’s ready to be a wife! Cameron Diaz and her fiancé Benji Madden are getting married on Monday, Jan. 5, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal. Prior to the ceremony, the couple hosted an intimate rehearsal dinner in Beverly Hills on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Upon arrival, guests were handed drinks as they awaited the meal, which started at around 7:30 p.m.
According to the insider, the group stayed at the location for about three hours. [via Us Weekly]
TMZ added “We’re told the party is being thrown Monday night at Cameron’s mansion in Bev Hills. Trucks have been arriving all morning … from catering, to The Velvet Garden florists, Classic Party Rentals, and Beverage Warehouse… Cameron has been wearing what looks like an engagement ring — a big one — since December. They’ve only been dating since May.”
Cameron has famously said for years that she has no plans to get married nor ever have children. Previously admitting, “I’m not looking for a husband or marriage… I don’t know if anyone is really naturally monogamous. We all have the same instincts as animals.”
She has, however, invoked her right to change her mind. She and Benji have been dating for seven months and they quickly became engaged. They would probably have married sooner… if not for reported arguing over their prenup.
Life & Style reported a few days ago: “At stake is Cameron’s $90 million fortune,” more than Benji’s $20 million.
“Benji’s pride is hurt,” the insider says. “Haggling back and forth over money only highlights how much more successful Cam is. He’s worried that signing a prenup will shift the dynamic in their relationship.” A few days ago, the source added, “Cam shelved all wedding planning… until they resolve everything!”
Presumably this quick turnaround means they have finally worked out their prenup issues.
UPDATE: Hollywood Life confirms the couple are married: “Cameron Diaz, 42, and Benji Madden, 35, became man and wife, after just seven months of dating, on Monday, Jan. 5. The actress and Good Charlotte rocker exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends during an intimate ceremony in Beverly Hills, California.”
