Cara Delevingne is reportedly struggling to book runway work in London because some designers feel she’s gained too much weight.
Moreover, she reportedly has a reputation for being less-than-professional, allegedly turning up hungover and bloated from partying the night before.
“Cara is notorious for showing up at work looking hung over and bloated,” a source tells OK! Magazine. “That’s a surefire way to lose jobs.”
The source notes that although she did book Fashion Week shows in New York and Paris, Cara failed to book anything in her native city of London. Insiders claim it’s because Cara’s reputation as a party girl precedes her and she’s notorious for being unprofessional and not taking care of her body.
It’s seems like complete insanity that I have 10 million followers so I thought I would cover myself in fruit and write on my stomach in red lipstick which now won’t come off! This strange fruity thanks you is for you, especially the people who have supported me from the beginning! Lots of exciting things to come so watch this space ❤️❤️
Previously, male model Robert Konjic admitted that Cara had effectively been fired from Victoria’s Secret for putting on weight and “letting herself go.”
Robert revealed in late 2014, “They [Victoria’s Secret] are famously strict – if you let go even a little, then they don’t want you.” He explained of Cara allegedly being dismissed for weight gain, “I wasn’t surprised that Cara wasn’t walking this year. I bumped into her at the British Fashion Awards and she looked very bloated.”
In 2013, editor of LOVE Magazine and close friend Katie Grand recalled a time when Marc Jacobs called Cara a “troll” (referring to her 5 foot, 8 inch height).
Katie remembers: “I was trying to get her in the [Marc Jacobs] show, but it was the show in which everyone was very tall and very long. I remember Marc looking at me and saying, ‘Why is that dwarf in here?’, and me being devastated… I apologised to her afterwards.”
