“My depression and anxiety were so severe,” Catelynn told InTouch, “I didn’t want to live another day.”
“I started having severe panic and anxiety attacks in the middle of the night, which led me into a deep depression,” said the reality star, who is currently six-months pregnant with her second daughter. “I couldn’t stop crying. I felt I’d be better off dead. I needed help.”
“Tyler has battled depression and knows what it looks like, so he made my first [doctor’s] appointment,” says Catelynn of Tyler’s intervention. She has now been diagnosed with “severe depression and anxiety” and prescribed antidepressants Zoloft and Abilify (at the behest of her doctor, however, she’s stopped taking Abilify until she gives birth). She also speaks with a counselor.
A year into treatment, she reveals, “I’ve been taking my meds and talking to someone regularly, and it’s gotten easier.”
Shortly after Robin Williams’ suicide, she shared a photo to Instagram saying, “Depression, anxiety, panic attacks are not a sign of weakness. They are signs of having tried to remain strong for so long. 1 in 3 of us go through depression, anxiety or panic attacks at least once in our life. Let those who struggle know they are not alone…” with her own caption “It’s not a joke I struggle with depression/anxiety on the daily! We are not alone… there is help out in the world! #listentoeachother.”
Earlier this week, Catelynn shared the below Instagram photo with the caption “Had an amazing time with everyone! So nice seeing yall! DON’T FORGET Teen Mom OG’s are coming BACK to your TV screens in 2015!”
All the original cast except Farrah Abraham have been invited back to MTV.
