Earlier this month, it was claimed that Bethenny Frankel would return to the Real Housewives of New York. When questioned, however, Bethenny claimed that she had worked on a side-project for Bravo and nothing more. Adding that she could share no further information for fear of getting in trouble with the network.
It would now appear that Bethenny misled the media. Because she confirms to PEOPLE that she returns for the show’s seventh season. “I’m excited,” she admits. “It feels like the first season when it was fresh and new and unknown.”
She continues of her defunct talk show, Bethenny, “I felt very constricted and very handled… Being on reality TV was very freeing for me.” Adding, “[reality TV] can be challenging, stressful and often toxic, just like life … but for me, personally, reality TV is a great vehicle.”
She says not everyone will return, “There are some of us who will be together, but not everyone.”
And things are different this time around. When she started the show, she “had no money, no kid, no relationship. I was the perfect reality person.” However, now she’s going through a nasty divorce, “The decisions I make affect other people … some things about my personal life will remain private.”
She told OK! Magazine, “I’m genuinely excited, with a side of slightly nervous, for my return to The Real Housewives of New York City. Bravo has always been the place on television where I have the freedom to be unfiltered, honest and inappropriate, with an audience who has been with me from the beginning. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings for all of us. Watch what happens!”
Bravo producer Andy Cohen added of the news, “Bethenny is one of the most popular Housewives in the history of the franchise, and I couldn’t be more excited she is coming home to Bravo!”
