Teen Mom 2’s Kail Lowry and her husband, Javi Marroquin, have admitted they seriously considered divorce. However, even after the cheating allegations on the season premiere, they’ve worked things out.
On this week’s episode, the couple fought in front of their kids and friends about allegations that Kail had an affair with another man from her class at school.
Kail explains to a friend, “Someone texted me, ‘Good morning’ and ‘Do I have class?’ and now I’m cheating on him and I’m a liar.” Javi asks for her passwords to prove Kail is not cheating. She refuses and cries.
Later in the episode, she says, “I will not text anybody and I will change my number if you want, to make you happy, so that we don’t f**king fight like this. But just know that at the end of the day that I will still be as unhappy then as I am now.”
So how did they overcome their fight and trust issues?
We laughed through this… We are good. We worked out our issue, still have passwords on our phones 😂 & are friends w/ whoever! No worries.

It was a deeper issue related to not spending enough time TOGETHER. Not that I was friends with a guy. @JaviM9 love you

Previously, the pair admitted they seriously considered getting a divorce but then moved past it and decided divorce was not an option (previously, co-stars Leah Messer and Jeremy Calvert said the same but got divorced after Leah cheated).
“I think Javi and I went through a really rough patch that started right before we started filming the season,” Kail told Us Weekly. “But ultimately we made it through.”
She admits being resentful at being stuck at home with her sons, Lincoln, 20 months, and Isaac, 5, since the family moved to Delaware. “I just think it was trying to get on the same parenting page with Lincoln, and Lincoln was probably only 6 months old [at the time],” she recalled.
Kail continued, “And I think it was easier for me to make friends in Delaware, because I would go to my breastfeeding support group, CrossFit, stuff like that. And for him, he’s at work [in the military] all day. So I think that’s, it really was taking a toll on him at that time.”
Kail explained the fight in the Teen Mom 2 season premiere as stemming from the same insecurities for Javi.
“I’ve never given him a reason to be that way,” Kail insisted. “But, again, I go to college [finishing next December], so I’m around people my age and stuff. Javi doesn’t go to school with me, it was hard for him to see my friendships. And so I think that’s what really set him off.”
Kail recalls of when the marriage was at its worst:
“There was a point where I was like, ‘You’re going to go to work one day and me and the kids are going to be gone.’
But I think there was a turning point when his mom and his sister sat him down, and they sat him down and they were just like, ‘This is what it is. We’re surprised that she hasn’t left you,’ kind of deal.
So when I came home one day, he was just completely different and I was like, this is really weird. Like I don’t know how one conversation could change it. And he was like, ‘My mom and my sister put it in perspective for me. You’re not being crazy.’
So I was kind of happy that he acknowledged it. I mean, it obviously takes two, I was a part of it. But there was a point where I think he was contributing more to the arguing.”
Kail tells PEOPLE, “I don’t think parenting Lincoln was a huge thing for me… I think maybe it was harder on Javi because I had already done it before.”
She admitted on Instagram: “I don’t give this man enough credit for being a second father figure for Isaac. From DAY ONE he has accepted Isaac and treated him as if he was his own despite the fact that he had never even really been around children. Looking through my camera roll and in tears at how lucky I am to have my husband for my boys”.
They’re not giving up on each other: “Ultimately we get through it and make it work.”
