The movie poster for the new M. Night Shyamalan movie, The Visit, has leaked online.
The poster was shared on Reddit Sunday night. It’s been put up in a movie theater ahead of the release of the trailer later this week (late April). M. Night tweeted fans, “Next week… It’ll be online next week!”
The poster uses a cross stitch and says “From the director of the Sixth Sense and Signs. And the producer of Paranormal Activity and Insidious,” mentioning successes from the late 1990s, which was 15/16 years, ago because…
The rest of the poster reads: “Grandma’s rules: 1. Have a great time 2. Eat as much as you want. 3. Don’t ever leave your room after 9.30 pm.”
The poster has a worn-out effect and is stained with bloody finger prints. The release date for The Visit is given as September 11.
As some fans have noted, however, this poster feels awfully familiar.
A user on ONTD noted it’s basically using the same concept as the cross stitch poster for 1996’s Fargo.
The Fargo poster reads “A film by Joel & Ethan Coen: Fargo, a homespun murder story.” Using The Cohen siblings’ old names, the poster shows a body laying face down with the needle that did the stitching stuck in the ground next to them.
