Fantastic Four director Josh Trank does not want to be blamed for poor reviews.
The reboot scored 14% on Rotten Tomatoes and 25% on Metacritic.
It got reviews like “It’s a 100 minute trailer or a movie that never starts”. Rolling Stone called it “Worse than worthless. It not only scrapes the bottom of the barrel; it knocks out the floor and sucks audiences into a black hole of soul-crushing, coma-inducing dullness.”
In short it may make money but people don’t seem to like it.
Josh says it’s not his fault.
The version in theaters is not the version he wanted to be released. He complained about it on Twitter… and then deleted the tweet.
And Josh Trank deleted his tweet. Good news, I still have it. The oral history lives: pic.twitter.com/AnZQ6ilM9r

Josh wrote: “A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would’ve received great reviews. You’ll probably never see it. That’s reality though.” Here’s the screen capture.
