The newly revived Fashion Police may already be in trouble. Insiders insist that replacing the late Joan Rivers isn’t enough to get ratings. They may completely retool the show to make it work.
“Just putting Kathy in didn’t work,” said a source of the show that replaced Joan with her friend, Kathy Griffin. “The show wasn’t the same without Joan. Now, they are discussing changing the entire format.” What are they planning to change? “Making huge changes to the set and structure of the show itself. They are talking about starting from scratch, and even changing the shows name.”
The show has been making headlines, like when Kathy skewered Amal Clooney’s outfit at the Golden Globes and called the human rights lawyer “annoying.”
“Yeah, she’s annoying,” Kathy said this weekend. “You heard me! Everybody run in fear! I thought it was weird she had those gloves that remind me of, like, a p**n scene, where the guy goes home and there’s the naughty dishwasher and she only has the gloves.” Kelly Osbourne agreed the gloves belonged “on a vet helping a calf be born.”
Kathy continued, “Like, she used those bovine insemination gloves to rake through her hair instead of a brush… I’m fascinated how we’re like, not supposed to make fun of her because she married the great George Clooney. Look, everybody’s on the table, George! Nobody’s safe, nobody gets a pass.”
Earlier in the show, Kathy said: “Before I start making more enemies and burning new bridges, I want to thank my good friend. Joan, I know you are watching from heaven, but I am not afraid to bring the hammer down on anyone.”
Previously, co-host Giuliana Rancic admitted the new show had been a challenge. She wrote, “It has been a difficult transition the past few months without our Joan, but we all know that she would want the show to go on. We have her incredible daughter, Melissa, back as our Executive Producer and she will always be the link back to Joan. We will always think of her on set and we know that she will be watching over and laughing alongside us.”
