Freddie was one of the stars at Comic-Con where he spoke to ABC News promoting Disney XD series, Star Wars Rebels.
According to TMZ, Freddie claims former co-star Kiefer would arrive to the 24 set drunk, disrupt filming, cause altercations and if anyone called him out on it Kiefer would get them fired.
“I did ’24.’ It was terrible. I hated every moment of it,” Freddie alleges. “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash, I’d say it to his face. I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.”
Freddie continued, “I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped.”
“I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE for Christ’s sake, and it was a crazier job than working with Kiefer,” he added. “But at least he was cool. And tall. I didn’t have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which [“24”] made me do.”
Freddie added a parting shot… “Just put [Kiefer] on an apple box, or don’t hire me next time! You know I’m 6 feet and he’s 5’4″.”
However Kiefer’s rep has issued a denial about it. “Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze, Jr. more than 5 years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie’s grievances,” Kiefer’s rep said in a statement to Gossip Cop. “Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best.”
A rep for FOX also issued a denial to TMZ, saying “[Kiefer was] nothing but professional during the run of the show and is beloved by cast and crew. It’s so out of left field, 5 years later… We wouldn’t have done another ’24′ if Kiefer were anything like Freddie described.”
