Gary Shirley has explained some of the comments he made on a recent episode of Teen Mom OG, after fans felt that he implied he wanted Kristina Anderson to put their unborn baby up for adoption or for Kristina to get an abortion.
Shortly after this week’s episode of Teen Mom OG aired, Gary tweeted some clarifications. Concerned that fans had taken his words the wrong way, he tweeted “Very happy to be a dad again! I said ‘I wasn’t ready’ never said I didn’t want my baby! My words were twisted. I’m very excited.”
Gary then made several statements that he had no control over the editing. Which suggested that perhaps producers manipulated the situation or edited his words out of context. He tweeted “some people… don’t know that this is a show and I have no control over how it’s edited!” Telling another fan, “it’s a show you know”!
He explained further, he is happy that Kristina Anderson is expecting his baby girl: “Ur nvr ready 4 a baby even if it’s planned, I was more shocked I think, but I’m completely in love with her. She hears me & starts kicking”.

Reminded that he called the baby an “accident… which means it wasn’t supposed to happen” during a conversation with Leah on this week’s episode, Gary insisted: “I let [Kristina] know she had options. I don’t control her. All I wanted her to know is she had my support! but know I couldn’t make any other choice then to see my baby every day. So I was just being supportive.”
A fan replied “you definitely implied you wanted an abortion. but that was your initial reaction… Adoption or *long pause* adoption.” Although Gary denied wanting rid of the baby, responding “Hell no”!
Gary gushed about the unborn baby, writing: “I’m the same Dad to my New baby as I was to @leah_leann got her room set up in current house, but gonna redo at new house very exciting!”
He explained why he bought and started decorating the house. “I bought a house for my family & I’m doing my best to get it ready 4 her!” he wrote. “Because my family deserves the best & I want my girls to be happy.”
Adding, “Time for another day of renovations! Woohoo!”
