Despite claiming that he would not remarry, and that it was “annoying” people didn’t “believe” it, George Clooney is preparing to marry again.
This time, the 53-year-old seems smitten with his fiancee, British lawyer Amal Alamuddin, 36, whom he reportedly courted over email after she refused to hand over her phone number upon their meeting.
“He’s going to spend a king’s ransom to show how much he loves and cherishes her,” a source tells Life & Style.
They’re planning to get married at Clooney’s $30 million, 15-bedroom Villa Oleandra estate on Lake Como, Italy, which Clooney previously called “the most beautiful place in the world.”
“It’ll be a three-day extravaganza with the finest wines and delicacies from Italy, boat rides on the lake and fireworks at night,” the source adds.
George is reportedly planning to transport his family from Ohio and Kentucky, and Amal’s family from Beirut, to Italy for the wedding.
According to sources, Clooney is planning to spend $2,000,000 on the day including: vintage wine and champagne ($300K), his custom Armani tuxedo ($10K), security around Lake Como ($500K), catering an epic feast ($45K) and flowers and other decorations ($100K).
Clooney was previously married to Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.
UPDATE: Hollywood Life’s sources contradict Life & Style, claiming George will get married September 20, 2014 in Quebec, Canada.
