The actress posted a GOOP.com blog about the “Conscious Uncoupling.”
“It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.
We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.
We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.”
The letter was signed from “Gwyneth and Chris”.
However, they’ve been spotted spending a lot of time together. Sparking reports that they’re back together rather than just co-parenting their children.
RadarOnline notes, the couple never physically separated, “The parents of daughter Apple, 10, and son Moses, 8, dined in the Bahamas together just days after the split, shared a romantic meal at a Santa Monica eatery il Ristorante de Giorgio Baldi in May, and even celebrated Mother’s Day together at home.”
“It’s true they had problems but in the weirdest way this ‘conscious uncoupling’ situation has relieved the pressure on them,” a source told UK newspaper The Mirror.
“Gwyneth had ground rules about not immediately dating, respecting each other, keeping things happy for their two children and communicating throughout but it seems to have acted as a wake-up call,” adds the source.
The insider continues, “Chris still lives with her, they are amazingly lovey-dovey together and she still wears her wedding ring. They may have consciously uncoupled a few months ago, but they seem to be recoupling now. No one will be surprised if they get back together.”
