The tabloids claim his estranged wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, is resentful and it’s “a huge blow to her ego”. However, other sources claim Gwyneth has supported Jennifer, who has been a victim of the iCloud hacking scandal in which people’s accounts were brute forced at a time when there was no limit on the number of login attempts a hacker could make.
“Chris doesn’t care about the pictures. What he cares about is that someone hacked into her account and stole them. It is a disgusting thing to do,” a friend tells NAUGHTY BUT NICE ROB. “He supports her decision to take legal action. And so does his ex Gwyneth.”
As Girls actress Lena Dunham noted, “The way in which you share your body must be a choice. Support these women and do not look at these pictures… Remember, when you look at these pictures you are violating these women again and again. It’s not okay… Seriously, do not forget that the person who stole these pictures and leaked them is not a hacker: they’re a sex offender.”
Emma Watson also spoke in defense of the victims.
Jennifer has admitted that most of her photos are real. Her rep issued a statement, “This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”
Many of the images have since been removed with some image sharing sites appearing to prohibit their upload and warning users the copyrighted material is illegal.
However, as some of the photos were not selfies, Jennifer’s lawyer is having a harder time getting those removed from adult sites. In addition, some images sharing sites and message boards are creating copies to ensure the photos remain easily available.
Kate Upton’s rep also admitted her leaked photos are real, saying “This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton’s privacy. We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible.”
