Henry Cavill is single. The Superman actor, 33, and his girlfriend, Tara King, 19, have reportedly split.
Henry allegedly ended the relationship.
Tara felt Henry was “the love of her life”. She is “devastated by the sudden break-up”.
A source told UK newspaper The Sun, “Henry and Tara have split — it is official.”
The source added, “Henry said the two of them could stay friends and he even invited her to his recent birthday party, which she did go to. But their relationship is over.”
How is Tara coping? “It has been very difficult for Tara, who has been saying he was the love of her life.”
The pair met at London night club Mahiki last year.
They went public in October and became serious quickly. She travelled with him and met his family.
Previously, Henry defended the age gap. He told ELLE, “People say, ‘Age is just a number.’ A lot of times it’s not just a number. It’s actually a real and true sign of someone’s maturity. But in this case, she’s fantastic.”
He added, “It’s a natural reaction. But when I was 19, I was going out with a 32-year-old.”
Henry said his teenage girlfriend was his rock.
Henry told UK newspaper the Daily Mirror, “She protects me and is protective of me when I am having a hard time. She’s there when I need looking after and the world is a little too heavy. Then she will happily take that weight for me and make sure that I am OK.”
What was the attraction in the first place? He told the Mirror, “Tara allows me to be me and she doesn’t have a problem with that. She treats me like a normal human being.”
Back in April, Henry bought Tara a promise ring.
According to Star Magazine, Henry gave the art history student “a sapphire promise ring to wear until he replaces the rock with a diamond engagement ring after she graduated from Bristol University”.
The Star source added, at the time, “They’re in no rush to tie the knot… But Henry wanted Tara to have something, a symbol of how serious he is about spending the rest of his life with her.”
