Iggy Azalea has announced that she’s surrendering control of her social media accounts after this week’s Internet bullying.
The rapper recently returned from a vacation after which bikini photos surfaced (the red bikini above). Which led to body shaming and general criticism of her talents. Iggy read the replies on Twitter and decided to quit the site and hand over control of posting to her management.
Iggy tweeted this morning: “Just got back from a great vacation, came online and saw apparently it’s shocking and unheard of to be a woman and have cellulite. Lol.” She’s talking about the same bikini photos that Wendy Williams is defending on Hot Topics. Wendy calls the haters jealous and says they should leave Iggy alone!
Iggy continued on Twitter, “I just want to have peace and relaxation time without a perve with long distance lense hiding out taking pictures, everyone deserves peace.” Explaining that “I feel the hatred and pettiness i see online at all times is at making me become an angry person and I cannot be that.”
She admitted “To become nasty because of the way I feel iam treated would be a disservice to my fans and I promise i will try to keep smiling… But I also want to let my fans know iam taking some time away from social media. I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining.”
So, as fans and T.I. have been asking for a while with Twitter feuds getting out of control, Iggy has handed control of her accounts to management so she doesn’t have to see nasty messages anymore. She explains, “My management will tweet/run my accounts from today onwards with updates etc unless any message is signed -IA. Love you all. Peace out!” Adding, “The Internet is the ugliest reflection of man kind there is.”
