According to insiders, Iggy Azalea’s first North American arena tour is in danger of collapse because she’s being uncommunicative and refusing to do any promotion.
TheWrap.com reports, Iggy is “increasingly unresponsive to her management and refuses to engage in promotion” of The Great Escape Tour produced by AEG Live.
Making things even harder, adds the insider, the rapper has “become disengaged from her core team… and will not commit to press opportunities crucial in selling the massive effort.”
No press, no communication, no commitment. Which leaves them no way to co-ordinate the 24-city tour.
UPDATE: Billboard.com notes that the tour has been rescheduled. Also, supporting acts Tinashe and Nick Jonas will no longer be part of the show. Def Jam Recordings released a statement: “To accommodate for creative team availability and tour productions, it was determined that the tour will not be ready this spring. It’s important to Iggy that she delivers the show she envisaged to share with her fans and that requites more time in development.”

Previously, Iggy handed over her Twitter to her management after returning home from vacation to find lots of fat-shaming tweets about her bikini body. “My management will tweet/run my accounts from today onwards with updates etc unless any message is signed -IA. Love you all. Peace out!” she wrote. Adding, “The Internet is the ugliest reflection of mankind there is.”
Iggy has been in Twitter wars with everyone from Azealia Banks (which inspired an SNL parody) to Papa John’s Pizza.
Shortly after, she handed over control of her Instagram to management too. They released a message saying: “Until further notice Iggy’s Instagram will be run by management. Iggy is taking a break from social media. She loves all her Azaleans!!”
