Farrah Abraham claims she is “moving forward” with her plans to adopt a child.
The Teen Mom OG reality star has been talking about adopting a sibling for daughter Sophia for about a month.
According to OK! Magazine Farrah plans to adopt alone (without on-off boyfriend Simon Saran since Farrah told Cosmo Mag she is “single”).
Farrah posted on Instagram in November: “Let’s embrace the power and beauty that family brings with adoption… There are over 145 million orphans in the world. I grew up with all my neighbors being adopted and in foster care and I’ve seen it mean the world to them to have loving and caring homes.”
Farrah added at the time “I hope soon Sophia and I can make a world of difference by bringing home a baby brother or sister for Sophia… I always have been passionate about adoption as it means so much to me, my family, my community, my church and my heart thank you to all the parents who have adopted and to all the amazing children with their loving families. God Bless.”
Farrah told OK! Magazine earlier this month during press for Teen Mom OG “Every neighbor of mine was adopted and they also did foster care… I grew up around that. I’m very passionate.”
How does Sophia feel about being a big sister?
“Sophia is in the right frame of mind and is very supportive as well,” Farrah said. “She is very open and accepting to understanding that someone else had other parents, and we would be their second parent and be a loving family to them.”
Farrah says she should welcome the new addition in 2016. “We’re going through the process of approval,” she added. “I’m very excited to adopt.”
Farrah also confirmed the news to US Weekly.
“I’m happy to confirm I’m moving forward in my adoption process. This means I will be making some changes in my career to welcome a new addition to my family,” the 24-year-old revealed. “Very excited and this feels so right. I’m very blessed for this opportunity.”
