Jennifer Lawrence just did a Jennifer Lawrence-thing while being Jennifer Lawrence.
This time, the young Oscar-winner has admitted that she thought the acronym “V.O.D.”, which stands for “Video on Demand”, was a disease. An STD like V.D. (venereal disease), one assumes.
For reference, here’s what VOD media actually is:
Video on demand (VOD) or audio and video on demand (AVOD) are systems which allow users to select and watch/listen to video or audio content when they choose to, rather than having to watch at a specific broadcast time.
This is the definition Jennifer came up with*: “I don’t know what VOD is,” Jennifer admitted to Variety (via Just Jared). “I thought it was some sort of disease!”
She added: “I think it’s a huge crisis. Let’s talk about it, build awareness about it.”
In other news, Jennifer and Bradley Cooper are currently on the press tour for Selena. Asked how come they’ve worked together so often, Bradley insisted: “Honestly, it’s just happenstance. We both got cast in Silver Linings, and she was going to this other movie and the role was open and so that worked out.”
“I respect her so much as a professional, as an actor, and I think she’s the best there is,” he added. “I just learn from her. You always want to work with people who are better than you.”
“And I feel the same way about him,” Jennifer added of the actor she called her “work husband. ” However, she insisted, there’s “no sex!” in their relationship.
Bradley did know what VOD was and said: “I think it’s great!”
*In fairness, it is a disease too but Jennifer probably heard people talking about “VOD” and had no idea what they were talking about.
