There was a huge celebrity photo leak this weekend containing alleged photos of (thus far) all female stars.
There’s a purported list of celebrities who have been targeted. Including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Ariana Grande (suspected to be a fake), Victoria Justice, Bar Refaeli, Glee stars Becca Tobin and Lea Michele, Kaley Cuoco, Aubrey Plaza, Annalynne McCord, Amber Heard, Cara Delevingne, Candice Swanepoel, Farrah Abraham, Emily Ratajkowski, Gabrielle Union, Kim Kardashian, Jenny McCarthy, Lizzy Caplan, Mary Kate Olsen, Meagan Good, Rihanna, Scarlett Johansson, Kim Kardashian, Kelly Brook, Brie Larson, Hope Solo, Teresa Palmer, Krysten Ritter, Vanessa Hudgens, Hilary Duff, McKayla Maroney and Winona Ryder. There are many more possibly not released yet.
There appear to be far more photos of Jennifer than of any other celebrities thus far. Some are selfies that appear to have been taken on her cell phone herself while others appear to have been taken by someone else. Some are innocuous and appear to be costume changes; others appear to be intimate and meant for a partner.
According to early speculation, they were possibly stolen for profit. It’s been alleged that someone with unfettered access to many iCloud accounts accessed several accounts belonging to female celebrities and released them online this weekend. They were on sale in exchange for Bitcoins initially, however, many of those threads and some of the images have since been deleted by admins.
Jennifer Lawrence’s rep has issued a statement seemingly confirming the photos of Jennifer were real: “This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”
Victoria Justice has spoken out to claim the alleged photos of her are fake.
