It turns out, Kelly Osbourne wasn’t bluffing when she threatened to quit Fashion Police earlier this week. According to a new report, she quit her job as co-host today!
Giuliana Rancic and another host made comments about actress Zendaya’s dreadlocks at the Oscars. Kelly was outraged at the hair comment and threatened to walk unless it was all made right again. There was a backlash and Giuliana apologised twice (once on Twitter and again, more sincerely, on air).
Something extreme must have happened since then because TMZ reports Kelly is no longer one of the Fashion Police as of this morning.
Kelly Osbourne quit “Fashion Police” … TMZ has learned.
Multiple sources connected with the show tell us … producers and Kelly were at odds even before the Giuliana Rancic showdown, where Kelly threatened to quit unless Giuliana apologized over her comments about Zendaya on the red carpet at the Oscars.
We’re told the tension started over the first episode the cast taped without Joan Rivers. Kelly was unhappy with the way the show was being produced. Producers, we’re told, were “up to here” with Kelly so the handwriting was on the wall.

Update: E! confirmed the news by releasing a statement, “Kelly Osbourne is departing E!’s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers. Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Friday, March 30th at 9:00 p.m. and no decisions have been made on her replacement.”
“Kelly hasn’t been happy at the show for a while,” an insider tells Us Weekly, “and this whole situation solidified her decision to move on. It was time for her to go. She had five great years there, and the relationship she had with Joan there changed her life.”
According to a new report, Khloe Kardashian is probably in talks to replace Kelly. “Khloé is now in talks to join Fashion Police as a cast member. Having done several gigs…Khloé absolutely loves being a part of Fashion Police,” said a source. “The timing could work to Khloé’s advantage, and make it happen sooner rather than later.”
In other news, despite calls for her to be fired, E! is hesitant to get rid of Giuliana. “It’s complicated. The network is afraid of the backlash they would face if they got rid of Giuliana,” admits an insider. “She’s a cancer survivor. And before, all of these people really loved her and were very sympathetic towards her, especially since she was so open about her fertility struggles.”
“What she said is terrible. But she knows that she has a lot of people out there who have an emotional attachment to her that they developed watching her reveal her personal life struggles.” As such, “E! doesn’t want to garner any more bad publicity.”
