Kim Kardashian is in a “panic” about her book flop.
Selfish was a commercial failure. It sold 32,000 (compared to 500,000 for the likes of Lauren Conrad).
Kim’s rep denied that the book flopped. Updated figures showed the book sold about 125,000 copies.
In any case it’s lower than Kim/the publishers wanted. A source claims Kim is upset.
A source tells Star Magazine that Kim wanted a quick buck: “Kim is stressing out over how poorly her book is selling, because she thought it was going to be an easy way to make big bucks.”
The source explains the flaw in the plan: “When she first presented the idea to publishers, her biggest selling points were her huge social media following and her ability to influence the masses. But now, she’s starting to panic.”
“She posed for countless selfies,” adds the source of the marketing. “Kim really thought the book would sell itself, but she has had to put in a lot of extra work in order to advance book sales and keep the publisher happy.”
How desperate did Kim get? “She’s even recruited Kris Jenner and Kanye West to help her promote the book.”
“This isn’t Kim’s first product flop and it may not be her last,” added the source of Kim’s failed singing career, a failed prepaid MasterCard, fitness sneakers and diet pills that offered no health benefit.
