Shortly before her wedding to husband Kanye West, Kim Kardashian confirmed to reporters that she intended to change her name to Kim Kardashian West. Days after her wedding, she changed her name to “Kim Kardashian West” on social media.
However, according to a new report, the 33-year-old won’t change her name legally due to resistance from mother Kris Jenner.
“There is no way Kris would ever give her blessing for the main cash cow of the Kardashian empire to not continue to use that name professionally,” claims a source. Adding, Kris will fight Kim and Kanye “fight it tooth and nail.”
“In fact, if Kris thought she could get Kanye to change his last name to Kardashian, she absolutely would!” adds the source.
Previously, Kris pulled the same stunt and protested Kim’s intention to change her married name to Humphries following her wedding to second husband Kris Humphries (her first husband was producer Damon Thomas). Also, Kim’s sister Khloe legally changed her name to Khloe Kardashian Odom, making Kardashian her middle name, with minimal issues.
In other news, the couple will soon be following through on promises to have another baby.
The parents of 11-month-old daughter North, who turns one-year-old on June 15th, “both want more kids,” a source tells PEOPLE.
“Kanye would have already been trying for another, but Kim just wanted to get back to feeling like herself again first,” says the source. “But more kids are definitely in the plan.”
