Kris Jenner is reportedly angling for her own spin-off reality show focussing on her personal life in the wake of her split from Bruce Jenner.
“Kris has always been able to separate her personal feelings from business, if it presented the possibility to promote the family and make money,” a source tells the National Enquirer. “Her divorce is a perfect opportunity to do both.”
The happy family schtick was getting boring said the insider. And they were running out of material. “They were having to create storylines and international trips just to have new material,” adds the source. “Kris’s idea is to do a spin-off dating show to find her a younger man!”
Previously, Kris did land her own talk show for a trial run. In that time she scored lower ratings than The Real, which went on to do a full season. Moreover, she failed to land many guests who weren’t friends or extended family (family including Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie, Kanye, Rob, Scott and friends like Diddy). She also lied to fans about North’s in-person debut and brought out a staffer’s baby instead. She finally settled on a photo of North instead weeks later.
A senior FOX executive admitted Kris was a cash-grab and the show was actually boring.
“I think [Kris] was pretty uninteresting [on camera],” Frank Cicha, senior VP and president of programming for the FOX Television Stations said. “That was one where [sister company] 20th Television tried to capitalize on a name.”
He added, “When the camera was on [Kris] looked not just like a deer in the headlights, but like a deer that already got hit… It wasn’t a disaster in the ratings.” However, with the complaints and huge expense in producing the show, “When you added it up, it wasn’t a show that made sense for us.”
