Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer is on the cover of Us Weekly.
Leah talks to the magazine about losing primary custody of her twin girls, Aliannah and Aleeah, 5.
The cover says: “Teen Mom Leah: Losing my babies. Corey (Simms) will do anything to hurt me, says Messer, as she breaks her silence on their agonising custody war”.
The magazine reports, Leah’s first husband Corey Simms was awarded primary custody October 7 (not October 13 as reported by InTouch). The courts agreed that Leah failed to get the girls to school on time (there were lots of other issues like the girls’ late dinners and bedtimes).
A source tells Us Weekly about the girls’ lateness: “Leah just wasn’t getting them to school… They were missing and they were tardy.”
Leah says the girls were late once and never again. She met with the school October 19 to discuss the kids. “I talked to the superintendent,” Leah recalls, “and I’m sending them the [time-stamped] pictures I took to prove the girls were not tardy. They’re going to take them off.”
Corey has the twins Monday through Friday. Leah has the girls on weekends. Leah explained “[Losing primary custody] was like a slap in the face… It hurt me. It made me angry.”
Leah is hoping to get the custody decision changed. She “filed a motion to reconsider the custody change and hopes to eventually share 50/50 custody.”
“I feel like they should have both of us in their lives,” Leah says of her twins’ well-being. “At the end of the day, my kids are going to be happy, and I don’t care what I have to do to make them happy.”
