LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are days away from the premiere of the television show fans suspect is a thinly-veiled excuse to bash Eddie’s ex-wife, the mother of his two minor sons, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reality star Brandi Glanville.
Asked why, four years after their affair, the tabloids won’t let up, Eddie tells Ryan Seacrest, “I think we all have a pretty good idea why they didn’t calm down. It’s still kind of shocking to me that it’s still out there.” (He’s hinting that it’s Brandi’s fault for talking and writing about it.)
Eddie continues, “This is an opportunity for us to give people a glimpse into who really are as a couple… how we tick and why we are in love.”
LeAnn adds, the ongoing Twitter rows between her and Brandi have been “a very one-sided feud.”
“[Brandi’s] been fighting with herself for a long time,” LeAnn says. “I keep my mouth very shut about a lot of things, and there comes a time when I do have to stand up for myself.”
The country singer continues, “Trust me, I ignore things way more than I probably should or could have. I could have gone absolutely nuts, but I don’t want to do that.” Here’s the audio of the Ryan Seacrest interview.
Previously, the couple insisted they’re NOT using the show to attack Brandi. “We’re not taking shots [at Brandi],” Eddie insisted.
LeAnn & Eddie premieres on Thursday, July 17 at 8/7c on VH1.
