LeAnn Rimes has called the press attention surrounding her blended family “creepy.”
LeAnn told Cleavland Scene (via Celebitchy), “It’s funny because someone said there was a picture of me going to the grocery store yesterday and I’m pretty aware of photographers. That’s the creepiest part, when I don’t know someone is there. I would prefer they would jump out and show themselves.”
She added, “It seems stalker-ish. That’s the stuff that freaks me out a little bit. Where we live, there are so many celebrities so the photographers will sit on every corner. As a woman, honestly, you just want to go to the grocery store with no makeup on and not care. That’s all I’m asking for. That would be nice.”
However, on a Chelsea Lately interview in 2012 LeAnn admitted to calling the paparazzi on herself. She began, “They just follow us everywhere. It’s quite annoying. Yes. I get annoyed with myself, to be honest.”
Confronted by Chelsea who said “Some people would say that you set the photographs up,” LeAnn admitted, “I have actually set a photograph up to get people to leave me alone. Once the photographs are taken then they’re done. It’s not something that you go do often….. The really really freaky things… Like we’ll set photographs up for our wedding so we know everything’s taken care of and it’s going to be done the way we want to do it.” She added, joking, “…Certain ones where I’m like picking a wedgie out of my butt in a bathing suit. I definitely didn’t set that up.”
LeAnn and husband Eddie Cibrian also worked for YEARS to land their own reality show. There were rumours as far back as 2010 of their scripted reality show. They eventually landed one on VH1 that didn’t do so well in the ratings.
