Lindsay Lohan is currently starring in Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet – the adverts for which hit the London press today.
The play has been plagued by rumours of production problems ever since Lindsay’s casting was announced. She was confirmed about three weeks ago, when she posted the photo above with the caption “At work! First day.. Read through”, although fans assumed she was lying. However, it’s been confirmed and she’s been in London ever since (although, most of that time has been spent in girl fights with Kate Moss and getting tipsy at trendy eatery Chiltern Firehouse).
Speaking of which, her co-stars are questioning her commitment to the play and she’s reportedly missing rehearsals. Moreover, she’s on her final warning and in danger of getting cut for her lack of commitment.
She’s allegedly partying all night, and arriving to rehearsals late and unprepared. Sometimes, she doesn’t show up at all.
“The cast is already really annoyed,” an insider claims of the backstage drama. “The director told her that, basically, it’s a one-strike deal. If she misses one more practice or comes in late again, she’s done.”
A spokesperson for the play has responded to the story, claiming “rehearsals are not yet under way and casting still in progress.” Which either hints that the story’s false because Lindsay hasn’t missed production meetings – or she may STILL be replaced for missing rehearsals.
And, as detractors have been saying for weeks, this will be Lindsay’s understudy’s time to shine.
