Mariah Carey has called American Idol “fake” and “boring”.
Mariah is a former American Idol judge (the show will end in 2016). Asked whether she would appear as a guest on the final season, Mariah exclaimed, “Hell no! Absolutely not! That was the worst experience of my life.”
She added, “I would never want to be involved with it again. But everyone else can like it!”
“It’s so boring and so fake,” the diva told Australia’s KIIS FM co-hosts, Kyle and Jackie O.
“I’m sorry I just think it’s… when I say it’s fake… I mean like you have to make up things to say about people,” Mariah recalled of the singers on the show.
Mariah explains, judges often have to embellish or even be fake so they can also be entertaining! “Half the time the performances are good, you just be like ‘it was good’ and you feel like ending it there: “You were really good.”
Mariah was one of two female judges, the other being Nicki Minaj (they fought after producers promised Nicki would be the only woman… then went back on their word and hired Mariah too).
Mariah recalled, “I don’t think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show. Pitting two females against each other wasn’t cool… It should’ve been about the contestants instead of about some nonexistent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness.”
