Megan Fox has filed for divorce from Brian Austin Green.
Megan filed for divorce through her lawyer Laura Wasser (if the name sounds familiar, it’s because Laura reps a lot of celebrity divorces).
Megan cited “irreconcilable differences”. She wants joint physical and legal custody of their sons, Noah, 2, and Bodhi, 18 months. They have no prenup so breadwinner Megan will have to share 50% of her marital earnings and other community property. She will probably pay spousal support.
It’s “amicable”, though, and they still live in the same house.
Sources have explained a bit about what happened.
“Megan and Brian’s split is a classic Hollywood story of two people in different stages of life and career,” says an insider of Megan, 29, and Brian, 42.
“Megan is young and hot and sought after for work, and she is eager to move ahead in her career,” the source adds. “Brian wants more of her time than she can allow.”
It became difficult to balance work and family. Brian was demanding, seemed a little controlling and wanted a wife who would stay at home with their kids more and not work so much. Megan wanted to work.
“[Megan] was overwhelmed with the children and her husband’s expectations, which got in the way of work responsibilities,” explains the source of why they split. “They had many disagreements and arguments about her time at home, which led to problems.”
In the end Megan chose her career over Brian. “Megan has always been career-oriented and noted because she was so beautiful,” says the source. “Now she is being recognized for her talent, and like anyone else with Hollywood ambitions, she wants to pursue those options. The timing just wasn’t working for her relationship.”
A source told Us Weekly the same earlier this week. Megan and Brian split six months ago. Why? He wanted a stay-at-home mother for their kids not a career woman.
