Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter, North West, 20 months, will be cropped out of any footage from season 10 of Keeping up with the Kardashians.
According to an insider, negotiations for the next few seasons of Keeping up with the Kardashians “didn’t ever include any talk of having North on the show.” Her parents were VERY specific in their demands. “It was a no-go from the very beginning because Kim and Kanye made it clear North wasn’t going to be up for discussion.”
Despite sharing photos on social media of North’s swimming, dance and other lessons, then posing with the toddler for paparazzi, taking her to press-heavy evening events, and talking about her extensively in interviews, “[Kim and Kanye] want North to have some privacy and be able to be a child away from the cameras.” Okay… sure.
“There will be times when North will be included in a group setting, where it’s impossible to edit her out,” explained the source. However, “she won’t be on the show on even a semi-regular basis. E! offered big money to have North included, but her parents turned it down.”
So, the family got the deal they wanted, for the price they wanted, but without having to feature anything that made them uncomfortable (from North growing up to 17-year-old Kylie Jenner “falling in love” with the 25-year-old man she MAY have started dating at age 14).
The source continues, “Kudos to Kris for scoring a record-setting deal without having to give up much in terms of concessions. There was a point during the talks where it seemed E! wasn’t going to pay for the massive contract. Kris would have had another deal signed in record time, and E! wasn’t going to let that happen. Love or hate the Kardashians, the family continues to do very well in the ratings.”
