Before Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the so-called “first family” of reality television was The Osbournes.
The family were a staple on MTV from 2002-2005 and parents Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne dealt with their troubled teens Jack and Kelly Osbourne on-screen (their sister Aimee Osbourne opted out of being on the show altogether). Since then, Jack has started a family and cleaned up his life. Kelly has also cleaned up her personal life and they’ve both lost a significant amount of weight.
Back and better than ever, The Hollywood Reporter claims they will come to VH1 in the future.
VH1 has revived the reality series starring Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly Osbourne, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The Viacom-owned cable network is near a deal for a new batch of episodes of the former MTV reality series.
The news comes after Sharon Osbourne has been public about the show’s revival, noting that it will likely come back for six or eight episodes. [via The Hollywood Reporter]
Sharon addressed the show’s return on The Talk this week, admitting, “At most there’ll be only six to eight episodes and it’s a catch-up on our lives and where we are now because it’s been so long [since we’ve] been seen as a family, and our family has grown.” She added. “It was all my husband’s doing because he looked back on his life and he said, ‘I wish we could have done ‘The Osbournes’ now where I’m clean and sober.'”
