Andrea Bocelli, left, singing at Kim and Kanye’s wedding. Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. stands between the couple.
Famed tenor Andrea Bocelli serenaded Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as the couple walked down the aisle, and exchanged vows, at their Florentine wedding.
“I thought I was walking to the aisle to his CD playing…” admitted Kim of hearing the music play. “But when I got to the altar, I did a double take and screamed!” she says. “I couldn’t believe he was there himself!”
“The pic,” Kim says, “is when I just got to the altar, and [Andrea] was still singing.”
“My favorite singer is Andrea Bocelli and Kanye surprised me,” Kim says, adding, “My dad [Robert Kardashian, who died of esophageal cancer in 2003] loved him too. It felt like I was walking down the aisle with my dad as [Andrea] sang.”
However, previously the New York Post (via Vanity Fair) ran an unflattering article about the wedding in which it was confirmed the wedding planners were extremely disrespectful to the legendary singer.
“Andrea Bocelli sang during Kim’s processional. The blind opera legend had been asked as a guest, but the wedding planners hadn’t provided a seat for him. He said he’d be happy with a glass of water, and was told after his performance, ‘Thank you, but it’s time for you to get in your car and go home.’”
“Nobody knew where they were going more than half the time, it was like every man for themselves with no direction,” a source confirms of the disorganised wedding day. “There was hardly any coordination which was very frustrating for guests. It was basically a complete clusterf**k.”
“There was just no reason for it all to be so chaotic,” the source said. “It was disappointing. We expected more with all the planning that went into it.”
