Lindsay Lohan says her performance of Speed-the-Plow could have been worse. “I could have not shown up,” she quipped in response to the media backlash.
The reviews were mixed. Although critics seemed to agree that Lindsay had improved since the first performance during which she had to be fed lines and the audience laughed at her failure to keep it together. Perhaps the inconsistencies in her performance were because she had been going out drinking and partying until late when she had work commitments the next morning.
…At 3am or so, [Lindsay] was papped on her way out of Loulous. According to photographers, she could barely stand and seemed to be yelling shouting at a woman outside. Some dude had to break them up.
Even if the fight details are disputable, the time of night is not. Several agencies were there and confirm that she did in fact leave after 3 in the morning…
And tonight just happens to be press night for the play.
So, you know, it might have been a good idea to get some rest, to focus, to set up every controllable variable so that you can be at your best in front of the media who will be there to write about the production and then, hopefully, recommend it to theatregoers.
You do this not only for yourself, to save your f**ked up career, but also for your colleagues, your director, the crew, all the people working hard, who want to be proud of what they’re presenting to the audience.
But if you’re Lindsay Lohan, you stay out until 3am the night before press night. Press night? Or, you know, some would call it Official Opening Night. [via Lainey Gossip]
After initially blaming Oprah’s reality show for driving her out of New York City, it appears that Lindsay has reached out. Oprah went to see Lindsay on stage in London this weekend as did Oscar-winner Lupita Nyongo.
Lindsay shared one photo on Twitter with the caption “So thrilled to have @Oprah and @Lupita_Nyongo in the audience tonight. Im a lucky girl! Xxo #myfairygodmother”. Lindsay posted another photo to Instagram with the caption “The definition of a blessing. Thank you @oprah and @Lupita_Nyongo for seeing the show tonight. Love you xx.”

Dina Lohan has also been at several performances supporting the actress. Lindsay shared a photo on Instgram with the caption “My beautiful mum supporting me! What a blessed life I’ve found. @dinalohan @oprah #speedtheplow”.
