The RichKids of Beverly Hills are back for a second season.
S2 e1, #RichKidsReturn will premiere August 3 on E!. Candiest.com has seen the season premiere, so here’s the full episode summary for fans who cannot wait.
At the start of the episode, we see all the teasers for the rest of the season. In short, Dorothy’s new relationship with Cooper – with whom she went “Instagram official” at New Years – may hit the rocks and there are allegations of lies and cheating, and Roxy is set up with a new man. This season will also feature Earvin “EJ” Johnson far more prominently than in season one.
In the first scene, the kids go yachting and discuss the rules of the ocean, like “Not repeatedly referring to it as yachting.” These include “situational dressing” and EJ remembering his Chanel captain’s hat next time. Also:
– “You can never get drunk at sea… Look what happened to Natalie Wood, that was so no bueno.” – Morgan.
– “Yachting isn’t really appropriate attire, it’s appropriate colour schemes.” – Morgan.
– “[Dressing] very Ralph Lauren, and, like, Michael Kors-y… but, like, NOT. Sorry, Michael.” – Dorothy and Morgan.
The boys, including EJ and Brendan, complain to Dorothy that Cooper avoids their social gatherings and always has an excuse. Dorothy defends Cooper, saying “four hours on a boat is a commitment” he’s not willing to make.
Then, Roxy and Morgan walk their dogs – and Roxy over-coordinates outfits with her pooch. Roxy says she’s been set up by a friend with a guy on Facebook. She only FB messages the guy and doesn’t even text, as he’s “not in America.” Morgan says it’s not a real relationship and Roxy admits it’s “Not permanent” since it’s emotionally distant. Asked whether the guy has a phone, Roxy responds “Yes… and a Ferrari.. it’s fine!”
Then the friends have lunch at Xian for Chinese food and a surprise announcement, invited by Dorothy who in turn wants to invite them to the opening ceremony for her (billionaire) father’s latest development, the world’s largest retail center, Guinness certified, leaving almost immediately. Dorothy wants to show them “more of my culture, and show them that it’s not just Mr Chow and Panda Express.” Dorothy says Cooper is coming too. Not present, EJ, who’s shown in the next scene shopping with sister Lisa.
The friends gather at Roxy’s for snacks and gossip. Cooper phones Morgan, and says he wants to back out of the China trip. Morgan says it’s too late to back out and it’ll look bad. Shortly after, he and Dorothy have dinner together where he’s fidgeting the whole time.
Brendan and Morgan have an early chat at home, where they talk about how “strange” it is that Cooper never socialises, even now he’s in a relationship. Brendan then makes excuses to leave and go to the office on a Saturday morning, to Morgan’s chagrin, and Brendan insists “those things (like shoe shopping) cost money”. Morgan calls him out for not being present or supportive, saying they’re “growing apart and something needs to change.. Me sleeping (in a shared home) at night, and waving goodbye every morning is not a relationship.”
Previously, it was confirmed that the show had its own spin-off with business savvy New Yorkers, the RichKids of New York, of whom photos have already leaked.
