Bruce Jenner’s mother is “proud” that her flesh and blood is being open about the transition that “can help other people with emotional problems.” Serious problems like not being able to express yourself openly for 65 years.
After being told to hide this secret by people including Kris Jenner, finally, some good news for Bruce! Turns out the Olympian is at least a few months into the transition from physically male to physically female. And now there is more information about Bruce’s upcoming interview.
BuzzFeed broke the news this morning that Bruce would do a sit-down interview with Diane Sawyer/ ABC News. Revealing that there were hurt feelings at NBCUniversal who expected to land an NBC News interview because NBC is the parent company of E! – the home of Keeping up with the Kardashians. However, as mentioned earlier, Bruce is in control of this project not Kris so it matters less about keeping a good relationship with E! News.
Bruce’s mother Esther Jenner (the woman who openly loathes Kris Jenner) says she’s proud. “I just learned about [the transition],” she told RadarOnline. “Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it.”
Esther added, “I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instills enthusiasm in people. He’s gifted.”
Although she “did not know” Bruce is transgender, Esther revealed “Right now I am more proud of him for what he’s allowing himself to do. I am more proud of him now than when he stood on that podium and put the gold medal around his neck. He deserves all the respect.”
“I support him wholeheartedly,” she continued. “I just love him like I always have.” And Esther thinks the Diane Sawyer sit-down interview and accompanying television series about the transition are a great idea because “[Bruce] can help other people with emotional problems.”
