According to a new report, 50 Shades of Grey leading man Jamie Dornan may not return for the sequels. Sources claim he may drop out to please his wife, actress Amelia Warner, with whom he has a 15-month-old daughter.
Australia’s NW Magazine (via the UK’s Daily Mirror) claims: “Jamie [told his wife] the movie would skyrocket his career.” The source added, “He tried to assure Amelia nothing would change but women all over the world now lust after Jamie.”
“[Jamie’s wife] hasn’t seen the film and I don’t think she will to be honest,” claimed the source.
Also, despite critical panning, “Jamie does not think his performance was bad – instead he blames Dakota and says it wasn’t possible to have chemistry with her… He says Dakota gave him nothing to work with.” There were exhaustive reports claiming that Jamie and Dakota had no chemistry on set. That whole scenes had to be re-shot as Dakota wasn’t sexy enough the first time.
Previously, it was reported that after months of butting heads with author E.L. James the movie’s director Sam Taylor Johnson didn’t want to return to the sequels either. E.L. wanted a literal interpretation of the book whereas the studio and Sam wanted something much more creative. Their working relationship reportedly became “toxic.” Even now E.L. is making things worse by demanding increasing amounts of control over the upcoming movies.
Days before the movie started shooting, the original hand-picked leading man Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the movie, calling his decision “heartbreaking”. Later claiming family issues, being overworked, and having a nervous breakdown (insiders at the movie studio claimed it was really a difference in creative vision).
