Robert told Esquire Magazine UK, “S**t happens, you know?”
“It’s just young people,” he insisted of their young relationship going awry. “It’s normal!”
“And honestly,” he said, “Who gives a s**t?”
“The hardest part was talking about it afterwards,” he continued of having to do a Twilight press tour in the middle of the cheating scandal. “Because when you talk about other people, it affects them in ways you can’t predict.”
He explains, “It’s like that scene in Doubt [2008, in which Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a priest suspected of inappropriate behaviour], where he’s talking about how to take back gossip? They throw all those feathers from a pillow into the sky and you’ve got to go and collect all the feathers.”
Of paparazzi attention, Rob laments, “I don’t understand why [they follow me]. I think it goes through periods where you’re assigned ‘this is the guy to follow’. But whenever I see a bunch of paparazzi hanging out, I always think, ‘Oh God, what have they found out!’ Oh, THAT love child! I totally forgot!”
Previously, it was reported that Kristen handed friend Rob a role co-starring with Robert De Niro and Rachel Weisz in upcoming movie Idol’s Eye.
“Kristen talked to [director] Olivier [Assayas] non-stop about how committed Rob is as an actor and as a result he basically got the role in his pocket,” claims a source. “Kristen knew how much he wanted to work with Bobby [Robert De Niro].”
Multiple sources tell Gossip Cop, however, Rob landed the role on his own.
