Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’s Joseline Hernandez has admitted that the show is contrived for drama and ratings. Moreover, that the same thing happens on most reality shows and it’s the norm.
Joseline is being sued by her former co-star, Althea Eaton, who alleges that Joseline got high on crack cocaine and attacked Althea during the reunion. At a recent deposition, Althea’s lawyer asked whether the show was real or whether scenes are staged for entertainment.
“Well, with reality TV, it’s mostly — it’s called ‘reality,’ but it’s a lot of acting in the reality world,” admitted Joseline in the taped deposition.
The reality star then admitted that most reality shows were largely fabricated by producers. With contrived scenarios and relationships that might not have occurred without coaxing. She adds, “I say that because a lot of the girls that are on the show, they act, and so there’s a lot of acting in a reality TV show, whether it’s Love and Hip Hop or another show.”
Joseline even says she’s not the person her fans think she is. Seeming to suggest that she’s more subdued and not as violent or volatile as the person she’s scripted to be on the show.
“The reality TV show showcases a lot of who we are not,” she said. “And I say that because you never know what happens in a reality TV show, they’ll showcase your music, they’ll showcase certain things, but that’s not who Joseline Hernandez is.”
