Jessica Simpson is currently celebrating the 10th anniversary of her fashion line The Jessica Simpson Collection. As part of her press tour for New York Fashion Week Jessica rang the New York Stock Exchange opening bell.
At the NYSE event CNBC’s Closing Bell asked Jessica “What was your biggest money mistake?” Jessica replied: “The biggest money mistakes? I don’t know. For some reason I thought of my first marriage!”
What did Jessica mean when she said her first husband Nick Lachey (now married to Vanessa Lachey) was her biggest financial mistake to date? Jessica made the mistake of listening to her father Joe Simpson and not getting a prenup with Nick. Why didn’t she get a prenup? It seemed like a smart financial move for HER at the time!
“The real story is that Jessica paid Nick $12 million in the divorce,” a source revealed of Nick and Jessica’s split. “That is what she meant when she said her first marriage was her biggest money mistake!”
“The reality is that her dad, Joe, refused to let Jess sign a prenup as Nick was worth more when they got married! That came back to bite her in the ass!” added the insider.
“Nick got more from her than he got from his entire music career,” the source revealed of Nick’s HUGE payday! “He never needs to work again!”
Nick never needs to work again. Although he is currently filming a reality show with his brother Drew Lachey where they start a new business together.
How did Nick feel about Jessica’s comments? “They’re at war again,” the insider admitted. “Her comments have caused him to explode.”
