Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello got engaged at Christmas. They were on a family vacation together when he pulled her aside and proposed marriage. She proudly wore her diamond engagement ring the rest of the trip and on the way home. There were also reports that Sofia and Joe planned to immediately find a surrogate and have a baby together (joining her son, Manolo, 22, from her teen marriage).
Now insiders tell the National Enquirer that there’s a reason they’re not further along in the actual wedding planning. Sofia refuses to settle for a small, quick wedding. Or any wedding at all that doesn’t fit into her work schedule. A source claims “Sofia isn’t going to do anything that doesn’t fit her schedule. She’s telling Joe they can plan a late-fall wedding… at best.”
They’ve apparently been bickering for months over a wedding date. The source revealed, “Joe wanted to get married quickly, but Sofia insisted she wanted a big, splashy wedding, and she wasn’t going to do something thrown together.”
“One thing Joe has come around to seeing is that Sofia is a force of nature, and their wedding is going to be on her time – on her terms,” says the source. Adding of the relationship that started after the couple met May 2015, “They’re committed, but they are still learning about each other. I’m not sure theirs will ever be an equal partnership.”
